Funding call round is now open for applications from UK university researchers with innovative ideas for translational projects.
Researchers do not need to be based in the Lincam region (Lincolnshire and N. Cambridgeshire) to win funding but the research should be crop-based and have impact in the region i.e. impacting a crop grown or issue relevant to the region and beyond.

The webinar will cover the scope and requirements of the fund to assist potential applicants with their submissions. Weโll also explain a bit more about the Ceres process, from Expression of interest to pitching to our investment committee and weโll answer your questions.
The LINCAM Ceres Agri-Tech program aims to help develop agri-tech innovation or get proof-of-concept data to start commercialising agri-tech innovation either through start-ups or licensing.
Ranging from ยฃ5,000 to ยฃ150,000 funded to charity/IAA rules (no FEC), the LINCAM Ceres Agri-tech awards support the commercialisation of crop-related agri-tech innovations, e.g. through proof-of-principle work, prototype development or field trials. Proposals are assessed based on a pitch to the Ceres Investment Committee, with prompt decision making.
In these calls, LINCAM Ceres Agri-Tech is seeking Expressions of Interest for >50% EPSRC scope technologies that will significantly improve crop production in the LINCAM region (Greater Lincolnshire and North Cambridgeshire Fens) and which have the potential for global impact.
We have particular interest in technologies that address the following priorities for the crop production sector in the LINCAM area:
- Facilitate the transition to Net Zero crop production, e.g. through addressing energy efficiency and supporting the transition to sustainable energy sources;
- Enable better sustainable soil and water management;
- Increase labour productivity in intensive crop production.
There are two award streams
- LINCAM Ceres Agri-Tech Proof of Concept ranging from ยฃ5,000 to ยฃ20,000 (no FEC)
- LINCAM Ceres Agri-Tech Project Award ranging from ยฃ20,000 to ยฃ150,000 (no FEC)
Proposals are assessed by a pitch to the Ceres Investment Committee.
Interested? For the current round please submit a completed Expression of Interest form to info@ceresagritech.org no later than close of play on ๐ฎ๐ญ๐๐ ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฐ๐ต ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฑ. This is a collaborative process and Ceres can help to develop your idea and pitch deck. There will be future calls.

Background:
We are reaching out to the academic research community interested in interdisciplinary collaborative research that relates to agri-tech/food and crop production. We are particularly interested in funding researchers that have not so far considered how their research is applicable in this area.
The Lincam scheme is targeting three types of people across the UK, existing Agri-Tech researchers, researchers in other fields with research that has the potential to benefit crop producers, and research and innovation coordinators at universities and research centres who can identify suitable researchers.
Funds are available through our Lincoln / Cambridge EPSRC PBIAA. This PBIAA is focusing on research translation that develops technology to support agri-food supply chains within the Greater Lincolnshire and North Cambridgeshire regions.
